Brazil legend team win 7-1 against Việt Nam

Brazilian striker Renan scored four, Igor netted the ball twice and Alexandro added one as Brazilian football legends team cruised a 7-1 win over Việt Nam in a friendly match of the Brazil-Vietnam Football Festival 2024.

ĐÀ NẴNG — Striker Renan showcased his scoring prowess by notching four goals, while Igor found the back of the net twice, and Alexandro contributed one, leading the Brazilian football legends team to a 7-1 victory over Việt Nam in a friendly match at the Brazil-Vietnam Football Festival 2024.

Former striker Lê Huỳnh Đức pulled a goal for Việt Nam in the sport exchange event in celebration of the 35th anniversary of Việt Nam-Brazil diplomatic ties.

The visiting team, featuring former renowned football stars and World Cup champions from 1994 and 2002 such as Rivaldo, Dunga, Edmilson, Kleberson, Giovanni, Zé Carlos, and Paulo Sergio, put on a dazzling display of skill at the 20,000-seat Hoà Xuân Stadium on April 27.

The Selecao dominated from the start of the game with power and quick play.

In a rapid attack in the 10th minute, Renan got off the offside trap to dribble the ball through Vietnamese goalie Dương Hồng Sơn to open the score for Brazil.

Renan then found the net in the 22nd in a quick teamwork with Rivaldo in a close mark by Vietnamese defence.

The sharp striker then had a perfect combination with Andrey to punish Vietnamese keeper once again in the 28th minute.

Earlier, Wallace Bonilha would score his first goal after passing the ball through the reach of Vietnamese goalkeeper, but he missed the chance.

Việt Nam team saved the first and the only clear chance in the first half as they were given a free kick at the edge of the box in the 32nd minute. Lê Huỳnh Đức grabbed the quick pass from Tiến Linh to score the first goal for Việt Nam.

The Brazilian maestro Rivaldo, who took control the pace of the game, curved the ball to hit the post in 34th, missing a chance.

After the break, Việt Nam rearranged the squad in seeking more goals in the friendly game, but they still found hard to penetrate the well-defence of the visitors.

Klebeson threatened Dương Hồng Sơn with a powerful shot that hit the bar 20 minutes into the second half.

Renan celebrated his fourth goal of the game, effortlessly evading the Vietnamese defenders to bury the ball at the back of the net in the 62nd minute.

Striker Alexandro got a cross from left by Andrey to hit the ball at the back net, marking the score 5-1.

Igor increased the scoreboard twice in the 69th and 78th minute to complete the friendly match of the first ever Brazil-Vietnam Football Festival.

Brazilian and Vietnamese stars also had an exchange with fans during the break when they reserved signatures on shirts, balls and sharing photos at the stand.

It’s expected that the Brazil football Academy will debut at the city’s V-Village in Hòa Vang District as part of the festival and a beach festival will be take on April 28.
