HCM CITY — The Ho Chi Minh City Wings continue to keep their hopes of reaching the playoffs alive after overcoming the Danang Dragons yesterday by a score of 101-70.

The victory for the home team was predictable, but no one would have thought that the City Wings would have such an overwhelming game against the Dragons.

With the advantage of the 2.02m big man Yevgen Sakhniuk, the City Wings dominated the area under the basket and scored the first points for the home team.

When the first quarter had three minutes left, the City Wings reached 21 points, while the Dragon had not yet scored 10 points.

This lead was kept by the home team until the end of the first quarter with the score 28-19.

Entering the second quarter, the City Wings changed their playing style as they began to make three-pointers to increase the lead.

The home team quickly raised the score to 46-25 and then 65-37 after Jermaine Marrow of the Dragons was disqualified for two consecutive technical fouls at the end of the second quarter.

Accepting another defeat, Dragons' head coach Todd Purves decided to play all local players. Without foreign players, the Dragons ended the third quarter with the score 94-55.

There were no surprises in the final quarter, and the final score of the match was 101-70.

Trần Văn Trung of the City Wings became the second local player to win the Player of the Game award with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
