171 domestic cases of COVID-19 reported on Tuesday, mostly in quarantined areas

Việt Nam reported 171 domestic cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, including 165 cases in quarantined or locked down areas.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam reported 171 domestic cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, including 165 cases in quarantined or locked down areas.

Bắc Giang, Bắc Ninh provinces and HCM City recorded the highest number of cases with 98 cases in Bắc Giang, 39 in HCM City and 25 in Bắc Ninh.

Most of the cases in Bắc Giang and Bắc Ninh are factory workers in quarantined sites.

Among the new cases, authorities are tracking the travel history of a 57-year-old man in central Hà Tĩnh City. He is being treated at the general hospital of Hà Tĩnh Province.

Hà Tĩnh has imposed social distancing from noon on Tuesday after the case was confirmed.

Hà Nội reported a case which was not in quarantine before.

She is a 39-year-old woman who was in close contact with a vegetable vendor in Đông Anh District who tested positive on Monday. The infection source is unknown.

The country also reported two more COVID-19 related deaths while forty patients recovered from COVID-19 in Việt Nam on Tuesday.

Sixteen provinces have gone 14 days without new cases. They are Yên Bái, Quảng Ngãi, Đồng Nai, Nghệ An, Quảng Ninh, Quảng Nam, Quảng Trị, Thừa Thiên-Huế, Đắk Lắk, Nam Định, Hòa Bình, Tuyên Quang, Phú Thọ, Sơn La, Ninh Bình and Thanh Hóa. — VNS
