40 new COVID-19 cases confirmed on Monday evening

HÀ NỘI — Forty new community COVID-19 cases were detected on Monday, including two in Hà Nội.

Both new cases in the capital are connected to the 54-year-old Japanese man who was found dead at a hotel in the Tay Ho area. They had been in close contact with the man at an office located at 23 Phan Chu Trinh Street, Hoàn Kiếm District

Although the cause of death of the man has not yet been established, the deceased tested positive for coronavirus post mortem.

The two new patients are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Disease No 2 in Hà Nội’s Đông Anh District. 

Meanwhile the other 38 cases announced are all from Hải Dương Province, where from tomorrow, strict social distancing measures will be implemented after a large number of local transmissions came to light connected to the area.

So far, there have been more than 460 locally transmitted cases in the province.— VNS
