HÀ NỘI — A total of 580 Vietnamese citizens were repatriated from Singapore and the US Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
The passengers returning from Singapore included children under 18 years old, the elderlies, people with underlying health issues, while the citizens returning from the US are students who completed their courses and struggled to find accommodation, people who could not renew their visas, businesspersons and academics, and others facing financial and housing problems.
The 340 citizens returning from the US were quarantined after the flight landed at Vân Đồn International Airport in the northeastern province of Quảng Ninh, while the 240 citizens returning from Singapore landed in Cần Thơ International Airport in the southern province of Cần Thơ.
The Vietnamese Government will continue to arrange more repatriation flights to bring back citizens facing hardship abroad home, depending on their wish and local quarantine capacity. — VNS
