QUẢNG TRỊ — Authorities in Quảng Trị Province have locked down Bàu Hamlet from 9pm on Tuesday night.
The hamlet is in Hà Thanh Village, in Gio Châu Commune of Gio Linh District.
Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Võ Văn Hưng signed decision No 2235/QĐ-UBND to temporarily lock down the hamlet as it was at high risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
The provincial health department has co-operated with the committee to carry out measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the hamlet.
Local police, soliders, medical staff and relevant agencies have set up quarantine stations in the hamlet.
On Tuesday afternoon, Quảng Trị Province recorded two more new cases of COVID-19. They were the 861st and 862nd patients. The 861st patient is a 36-year-old woman, residing in Gio Linh District. She had contact with the 750th and 833rd patient.
The 862nd patient is the mother of the 832nd patient. She took care of the 832nd patient in Quảng Trị General Hospital between August 2 and 7.
The 832nd patient then became the 16th person to die of COVID-19-related complications in Việt Nam on Tuesday afternoon. He was suffering from type-1 diabetes, exhaustion and heart failure.
The province has recorded a total of six COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday morning, including a death. — VNS
