Nine more COVID-19 infections confirmed, eight connected to Bạch Mai Hospital

Of nine new COVID-19 infections confirmed on Monday afternoon, seven people are workers of Trường Sinh Company which provides services for Bạch Mai Hospital.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam's number of confirmed COVID-19 patients bypasses 200 late Monday, with seven being employees of Trường Sinh Company which provides services for Bạch Mai Hospital in Hà Nội, one of the country's top referral hospitals.

The others are a patient at Bạch Mai Hospital and a Vietnamese returning from overseas.

Patients numbered 195, 196, 198, 199, 200, 201, 202 are employees of Trường Sinh Company which cater to Bạch Mai Hospital’s canteen.

The 197th patient is a 41-year-old Vietnamese man living in Thanh Hà Residental Area, Thanh Oai District, Hà Nội. On March 12, he had an examination at the hospital’s Centre of Tropical Diseases and had a COVID-19 test taken on Sunday after several positive cases were discovered at the hospital.

The 203rd patient is a 35-year-old Vietnamese woman. She returned from Greece to Việt Nam on flight numbered TK162, seat 21A after transiting in Turkey.

After arriving at Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport on March 17, she was sent to a centralised quarantine area in HCM City’s Nhà Bè District. The patient was tested on Saturday.

As of Monday, the number of COVID-19 infections in Việt Nam jumped to 203.

Today, a total of 30 patients were discharged from the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hà Nội and a makeshift hospital in Củ Chi District, HCM City. — VNS
