HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Health has ordered its departments in 63 provinces and cities to not organise activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27).

The move aims to focus on fighting the COVID-19 epidemic.

Previously, the ministry issued a plan on January 6 to prepare for communication and reward activities to celebrate Vietnamese Physicians’ Day.

However, due to continuing concerns over the virus, the ministry asked all officers and staff of the health sector to concentrate on coping with COVID-19.

All activities honouring individuals who gained the title of People’s Doctor and Excellent Doctor, would be delayed until the 7th National Patriotic Emulation Congress of the health sector. The details of the congress’ organisation will be published later. — VNS
