New schools launched for students

The south central province of Ninh Thuận has launched a newly built school for Cà Ná commune.

CÀ NÁ, NINH THUẬN — The south central province of Ninh Thuận has launched a newly built school for commune - opening just in time for the new school year.

Built in the province’s Thuận Nam district, it have 35 standard rooms and facilities.

Funded by the Trung Nam Group, the Đặng Chí Thanh school cost VNĐ45 billion (US$1.9 million) and will cater for both junior secondary school and high-school students.

It’s also the first school in the coastal commune – where 1,000 students had for a long time been studying at the neighbouring Phước Diêm commune.

commune – 20km south of Phan Rang City – was seen as a poor area with 11,000 population living from fishing and aquaculture.

In the past, due to lack of funds students had to share classrooms with other schools.

Chairman of the provincial, Lưu Xuân Vĩnh said the new school will set up a foundation for promoting education among students in the commune.

He hoped students will enjoy a new education centre in the first school day of the 2019-20 school year.

At the hand-over ceremony yesterday, Trung Nam Group also donated 20 scholarships worth VNĐ80 million ($3,400) to underprivileged students in the commune, and 900 school bags and learning tools.

Also yesterday, Trung Nam Group opened a new primary school at Tân Hùng A in the southern Trà Vinh Province with a donation of VNĐ6 billion ($260,000) including learning facilities and equipment. — VNS
