Social sciences academy and JICA link up

Under the agreement, the two sides will work together to prepare a socio-economic development strategy in 2021-30 for Việt Nam as well as the socio-economic development plan of Bến Tre and Hà Giang provinces, and to study emerging countries in Asia.

HÀ NỘI — The Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) in Việt Nam and the Việt Nam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) on Wednesday agreed to work together on the sustainable development of Việt Nam.

Under the agreement, the two sides will work together to prepare a socio-economic development strategy in 2021-30 for Việt Nam as well as the socio-economic development plan of Bến Tre and Hà Giang provinces, and to study emerging countries in Asia.

JICA will also provide support to promote future collaboration in research between VASS and the JICA Research Institute.

Over the past nine years, the Việt Nam Academy of Social Sciences, one of the Việt Nam’s leading research institutes, has worked with JICA in drafting socio-economic development strategy for 2011-20 and supporting Lâm Đồng Province on an innovative policy model for the development and promotion of investment in agriculture. — VNS
