SƠN LA — An X-ray technician in Quỳnh Nhai District General Hospital in the northern province of Sơn La has been detained for allegedly raping a 13-year-old female patient during an X-ray examination.

The director of the province’s Health Department, Nguyễn Thị Kim An, said on Thursday that the department had asked the hospital to submit a written report about the case.

On the afternoon of May 21, the patient and her family from Chiềng Khang Commune in Quỳnh Nhai District reported to hospital managers that the X-ray technician named Mùa A Chớ had displayed an improper attitude and behaviour toward the patient .

The hospital then reported the complaint to the district police for investigation. — VNS
