QUẢNG NINH — The People’s Committee in the northern province of Quảng Ninh has asked police and agencies to step up patrols along the Hạ Long-Hải Phòng Expressway to prevent equipment from being stolen.

The request came after 117 drainage covers were stolen before the expressway had been put into operation, Dân Trí online newspaper reported.

The expressway is expected to open in early September.

With a length of 24.6km and 25m wide, the expressway has four lanes and a maximum speed of 100km per hour.

As a result, it will take travellers less time to reach Hạ Long, Móng Cái and Vân Đồn – three popular destinations in the province. — VNS
