Chinese passenger fined for issuing bomb threat

An airline passenger was fined for issuing a bomb threat at Cát Bi International Airport in the northern city of Hải Phòng.

HẢI PHÒNG  An airline passenger was fined for issuing a bomb threat at Cát Bi International Airport in the northern city of Hải Phòng.

Fen Chengyu, a Chinese national, was completing the check-in procedure at the airport on Thursday when she suddenly said there were bombs in her luggage.

The staff at the check-in desk immediately alerted the airport’s security department and asked them to come and check the passenger’s luggage.

According to the airport authorities, the security staff did not find any bomb or other explosive device in her luggage.

Airport security has transferred the case to the Cát Bi airport authority to deal with the passenger as per regulations.

According to Dân Trí online newspaper, the Civil Aviation Authority of Việt Nam is considering to ban her from all flights in Việt Nam for causing a bomb scare at the airport.  VNS
