ĐÀ NẴNG — Two seriously sick fishermen were rescued yesterday from the seas off Hoàng Sa (Paracels) Island, 300 nautical miles off the coast of Đà Nẵng.

The Regional Maritime Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centre No 2 told Việt Nam News that the two fishermen – Huỳnh Văn Linh, 45, and Đặng Ngọc Vủ, 38 – fell seriously ill while working at night on two different vessels in the seas off Hoàng Sa Islands on Thursday.

Linh fell unconscious after a fall from a high level on boat Qna90974TS, while Vũ  suffered severe pain in his lower back on board Qna90099TS.

A team of doctors and rescue staff was called to board the two fishing boats and provide first aid to both victims.

The two fishermen were safely taken to the Đà Nẵng Port yesterday afternoon, and are being treated at the central city’s general hospital. — VNS
