HÀ NỘI — The Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Federation of Đông Anh Commune held a ceremony on November 1 to honour 131 outstanding students and young achievers in 2025, celebrating the commune’s long-standing tradition of learning and academic excellence.
Speaking at the event, Nguyễn Thị Thảo, deputy chairwoman of the local Fatherland Front Committee and secretary of the Đông Anh Youth Union, said the commune has long been known as a “land of talented people” and the cradle of many scholars and national figures, including late Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng, writer Ngô Tất Tố and novelist Nguyễn Huy Tưởng.
“Today’s generation of Đông Anh students continues that proud tradition through their thirst for knowledge, creativity and determination to overcome challenges,” she said.
“Honouring 131 outstanding students and graduates this year is a meaningful way to recognise their talent, effort and perseverance.”
Among those honoured were four international award winners, four university valedictorians and 33 graduates with distinction, along with many students achieving top scores in the national high school exam.
Thảo added that the Youth Union and Youth Federation will continue to promote learning and youth engagement by supporting disadvantaged students, organising academic forums and developing life-skill and innovation programmes to nurture talent and civic spirit among young people.

“We understand that challenges ahead are also opportunities to contribute to the homeland’s development and make Đông Anh a bright spot of Hà Nội in the age of digital transformation,” he said.
Nguyễn Văn Cường, permanent deputy secretary of the Đông Anh Commune Party Committee, praised the awardees for their excellence and dedication, describing them as “fresh blossoms in the garden of learning achievements.”
He reaffirmed the commune leadership’s commitment to education. “Investing in education means investing in the future and sustainable development of our locality.” — VNS
