GIA LAI — A training course focusing on REZCET in agriculture towards building a green workforce in Việt Nam officially opened in Quy Nhon, Gia Lai Province on Thursday.
The event was a collaborative effort between the Recontres du Vietnam (Meeting Vietnam), the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), and the Center for Community and Environment Development Initiatives. Over 30 delegates, including scientists, experts, lecturers, and students from across the country, attended.
The training course, led by lecturers and experts in the field, aims to enhance the capacity of lecturers and students from universities and colleges in their training efforts. The ultimate goal is to build a workforce capable of promoting sustainable agriculture, forestry, and fisheries in ecological regions across Việt Nam. The core content revolves around the theme of Renewable Energy - Zero Carbon - Energy Transition (REZCET).
The core components of the training course focused on: introducing the REZCET platform in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries; presenting economic tools, models, and strategies for REZCET development in Việt Nam; applying and practising REZCET in teaching, research, community development, and businesses; orienting the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in REZCET research and practice; and providing lecture suggestions, learning objectives, and reference materials for lecturers.
Within the framework of the programme, delegates participated in a field trip to wind and solar power enterprises in Nhơn Hội to gain practical insights into renewable energy models. They also visited Nhơn Lý (Quy Nhơn Đông Ward) to learn about the formation and development of community tourism models associated with nature conservation and local economic development, notably at Nhơn Lý Fishing Village and Eo Gió tourist area.
Additionally, they surveyed the practical implementation and operation of several fishery business models and seafood processing facilities that are applying renewable energy such as solar and wind power.
Through the training structure, which followed a "Foundation - Economic Tools - Application & Practice - AI Orientation" sequence, the course not only equipped participants with foundational knowledge of REZCET but also provided a methodological framework, implementation tools, and specific application orientations. This will enable lecturers to easily integrate REZCET into existing training programmes and connect it with local and business realities. VNS
