The heavy rain has also led to specific instances of landslides and soil erosion.

In Phú Lộc District, a 20m-long landslide occurred along the La Sơn–Túy Loan expressway turnoff to Khe Tre, and a 10m landslide occurred at provincial road 14C in Hương Lộc Commune.

In A Lưới District, a section of the Hồ Chí Minh Expressway at km350 through Phú Vinh Commune experienced a 15-metre talus slope collapse. At these landslide sites, local authorities have set up barricades and warning signs to ensure public safety.

In Quảng Trị Province, the storm caused heavy rains with amounts ranging from 60–180mm, leading to flooding of many Summer-Autumn 2025 rice fields and low-lying fords in mountainous areas.

Authorities have also issued warnings about potential landslides.

As of 10:30am on Thursday, more than 7,946 ha of Summer-Autumn rice and over 94ha of lotus and 299ha of vegetables, had been inundated by heavy rain. The affected areas include the districts of Hải Lăng, Cam Lộ, Triệu Phong, Gio Linh, and Đông Hà City.

The heavy rainfall also submerged several low-water fords in Đakrông District, with flooding depths ranging from 0.5–1m, disrupting traffic in areas such as A Bung Commune and A Ngo Commune, and the ford connecting Tà Rụt Commune with A Ngo Hamlet.

Flooding was also reported at several fords in Ba Nang Commune, causing further disruption.

To ensure public safety, the La Lay International Border Guard Station has co-ordinated with local authorities to install warning signs and barriers at submerged sites to prevent people and vehicles from passing through.

The road to La Lay International Border Gate in A Ngo Commune was cut off, with authorities setting up checkpoints to restrict access to the flooded areas.

Since Thursday morning, the Quảng Trị coastal region has experienced strong winds of level 6–8, with areas near the storm centre reaching level 9–10 and gusts of level 13. Sea waves reached heights of 3–6m, creating extremely rough seas.

Warnings have been issued for river flooding in Quảng Trị, with peak water levels in the upper reaches of rivers likely to rise to alert level one or even surpass level two; lower river areas may reach or exceed level one.

There is a high risk of flooding in low-lying and riverside areas, as well as flash floods at low-water fords in mountainous regions while risk of landslides on mountain slopes in upland districts.

Meanwhile in Đà Nẵng, multiple landslides occurred across Sơn Trà Peninsula between the night of June 11 and the morning of June 12.

The main road leading to Sơn Trà Peninsula had at least four landslide points where soil and rocks spilled onto the roadway, posing traffic hazards.

About 500m further uphill, another serious rockslide occurred. Several massive boulders, each weighing tonnes, tumbled down, blocking the road. This area lies near a sharp curve, where limited visibility makes it especially dangerous.

On Wednesday and Thursday, Vietnam Airlines had to cancel 14 flights between Hà Nội and Đà Nẵng due to adverse weather conditions.

At the Phú Bài Airport of Huế City, bad weather also disrupted operations, with many flights having to circle or take off late. VNS
