HCM CITY — The HCM City Department of Information and Communications on Tuesday (February 27) launched AI-powered social listening software Socialbeat.
It collects real-time data from a number of social networking platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, electronic newspapers and general news sites.
It is capable of processing more than two billion pieces of information a day.
It helps the city administration access and understand the opinions and needs of the public and businesses, and promptly address them.
It integrates artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyse social network data based on topic, industry and other classifications.
It also allows users to get period-flexible reports based on data collected through many different mechanisms.
Lâm Đình Thắng, director of the Department of Information and Communications, said using social media has become a regular activity in people's lives now, and it strongly impacts their thinking and interaction and movement of social trends.
The city is home to a large number of social media users, and the largest number of online content creators in the country, he said.
“Social media is a good channel for the government agencies to consult from.”
Socialbeat software is a shared platform for the entire city, and will be monitored and managed by a permanent agency.
The department will provide training to state agencies to use the software proficiently and acquire information from it.
At the launch, an agreement was signed between the Department of Information and Communications, the HCM City Union of Business Associations and the HCM City Bar Association for protecting the public and businesses from cybersecurity risks, and providing people and businesses with legal consultants, education and advice related to information and communication.— VNS
