HÀ NỘI — Passengers travelling to Nội Bài International Airport from Ocean Park on the outskirts of Hà Nội will be able to do so on a new electric bus service.

Plans are in place to launch a bus route from Gia Lâm District to the airport to meet the public travel demands.

The Ministry of Transport has recently approved the proposal by Hà Nội’s People Committee to launch an electric bus route to connect the large residential area with Nội Bài International Airport.

The Transport Department will develop the operation plan and arrange the stops, passenger pick-up and drop-off points, following the guidelines of Nội Bài International Airport.

This will ensure the security and safety of the airport area and avoid disrupting other vehicles entering and leaving the airport. 

The bus route No E10 will run a distance of 35km, which is under the control of the Vietnamese automaker Vinbus.

Hà Nội’s Transport Department has approved for Vinbus to open 10 electric bus routes in 2022 including E10. However, the E10 route has not been put into operation as the Nội Bài Airport readjusts parking areas for public passenger transport. — VNS
