HCM CITY — The HCM City Committee for Overseas Vietnamese announced several practical activities to support overseas Vietnamese by the end of the year, Phùng Công Dũng, its chairman, said at a conference held in the city on Friday.
The committee planned to continue organising exchanges, investment conferences and meetings between overseas Vietnamese and local people and businesses.
It will organise a get-together for Overseas Vietnamese to celebrate the National Day of Vietnam (September 2).

An annual Summer Camp will be organised for young overseas Vietnamese from countries and territories worldwide to give them the opportunity to interact with local youth.
Overseas Vietnamese have been making great contributions to local socio-economic development, Dũng said.
In the first six months of this year the city welcomed more than 430 overseas Vietnamese returning to their homeland in the city and seeking investment and business opportunities, he said.
The city informed the overseas Vietnamese about updates on policies, laws, regulations and administrative procedures related to investment, doing business, housing, land use, real estate and immigration.
Many obstacles and difficulties related to investment policies have been promptly addressed to safeguard investor rights, he said.
A series of online and offline investment promotion events and talks were organised to boost investment and trading by overseas Vietnamese in the city.
In addition, overseas Vietnamese are willing to participate in charitable activities in the city.
