Việt Nam adds 1,587 new COVID-19 infections on Friday

1,587 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in 51 out of 63 localities in Việt Nam on Friday, according to the Ministry of Health.

HÀ NỘI — A total of 1,587 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in 51 out of 63 localities in Việt Nam on Friday, according to the Ministry of Health.

All were locally transmitted. The national tally now stands at 10,706,111.

The provinces and cities that recorded infections were Hà Nội (373), Phú Thọ (102), Vĩnh Phúc (92), Nghệ An (66), Yên Bái (65), Quảng Ninh (64), Tuyên Quang (60), Quảng Bình (59), Đà Nẵng (49), Bắc Ninh (48), Lào Cai (46), Hải Dương (46), Sơn La (43), Thái Bình (41), Thái Nguyên (40), Bắc Kạn (33), Hồ Chí Minh City (31), Quảng Trị (25), Lâm Đồng (24), Hà Tĩnh (23), Hưng Yên (23), Lai Châu (21), Hà Nam (19), Hà Giang (17), Lạng Sơn (16), Nam Định (15), Quảng Ngãi (15), Hòa Bình (15), Bắc Giang (14), Ninh Bình (13), Thanh Hóa (11), Cao Bằng (10), Điện Biên (10), Bình Phước (8 ), An Giang (6), Cà Mau (6), Bình Thuận (5), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (5), Gia Lai (4), Khánh Hòa (3), Long An (3), Vĩnh Long (3), Bình Định (3), Ninh Thuận (2), Tây Ninh (2), Trà Vinh (2), Thừa Thiên Huế (2), Đồng Nai (1), Bến Tre (1), Đồng Tháp (1) and Hậu Giang (1).

The COVID-related death toll increased to 43,075 with two deaths being reported in Tây Ninh and Trà Vinh.

There were 7,151 recoveries announced, bringing the total number of people given the all-clear to 9,390,032 so far.

Việt Nam has administered 218,799,777 doses of vaccine, including 3,252,201 for children aged 5-11. — VNS
