80,838 new COVID-19 cases confirmed on Thursday

The health ministry announced 80,838 new COVID-19 infections on Thursday, including 11 imported cases.

HÀ NỘI — The health ministry announced 80,838 new COVID-19 infections on Thursday, including 11 imported cases.

Hà Nội continued to lead the daily transmissions with 8,054.

The seven-day average of new daily cases in the country is currently 91,762.

Việt Nam’s total COVID-19 caseload now stands at 9,564,609, ranking 12th of 225 countries worldwide.

A total of 250,482 COVID-19 patients were given the all-clear, bringing the total number of recoveries to 7,519,013 since the start of the pandemic.

There are 2,975 seriously ill patients although none are on life support.

There were 39 COVID-19 related deaths recorded, putting the total fatalities nationwide at 42,493, or 0.4 per cent of infections.

The deaths were in Bến Tre (5), Bình Thuận (4), Cao Bằng (4), Phú Yên (4), Bạc Liêu (2), Đắk Lắk (2), Lâm Đồng (2), Quảng Ninh (2), Sóc Trăng (2), Vĩnh Long (2), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (1), Cà Mau (1), Gia Lai (1), Hà Nam (1), Hà Tĩnh (1), Hậu Giang (1), Lạng Sơn (1), Quảng Ngãi (1), Tây Ninh (1) and HCM City (1).
