13,889 new coronavirus cases recorded on Wednesday

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam registered 13,899 new COVID-19 infections on Wednesday, raising the total number since the start of the pandemic to 1,694,874.

Sixteen of the new cases were imported, and the remaining domestic. The new transmissions were reported in 60 provinces and cities across the country.

A total of 8,853 of the infections were detected in the community.

The capital city of Hà Nội led the list with 1,766 cases, followed by Tây Ninh with 938 and Vĩnh Long with 917.

Other localities that reported new infections were Khánh Hòa (793), HCM City (702), Phú Yên (686), Đồng Tháp (595), Bạc Liêu (593), Bình Định (432), Thừa Thiên Huế (390), Lâm Đồng (347), Trà Vinh (337), Quảng Nam (291), Hải Phòng (271), Bắc Ninh (263), Hưng Yên (249), Tiền Giang (214), Đồng Nai (213), Đắk Lắk (213), Thanh Hóa (206), Sóc Trăng (200), Kiên Giang (185), Đà Nẵng (180), Hà Giang (174), An Giang (172), Bình Thuận (159), Quảng Ninh (158), Cần Thơ (137), Hậu Giang (132), Gia Lai (128), Ninh Bình (120), Đắk Nông (120), Bình Dương (119), Quảng Ngãi (119), Quảng Trị (106), Vĩnh Phúc (98), Bến Tre (92), Hà Nam (92), Nghệ An (88), Nam Định (85), Bắc Giang (81), Long An (59), Sơn La (58), Ninh Thuận (57), Bình Phước (55), Thái Nguyên (54), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (52), Hòa Bình (52), Phú Thọ (51), Thái Bình (42), Kon Tum (40), Lào Cai (37), Tuyên Quang (37), Cà Mau (35), Quảng Bình (31), Yên Bái (21), Hà Tĩnh (12), Điện Biên (7), Cao Bằng (7) and Lai Châu (5).

A total of 38,260 patients were declared recovered from the disease, meaning 1,302,542 people nationwide have been given the all-clear so far.

A further 245 fatalities related to COVID-19 were announced, including in HCM City (40), An Giang (28), Đồng Nai (21), Đồng Tháp (15), Tiền Giang (15), Bình Dương (14), Vĩnh Long (14), Cà Mau (14), Cần Thơ (13), Hà Nội (11), Tây Ninh (11), Kiên Giang (11), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (11), Khánh Hòa (5), Bạc Liêu (4), Trà Vinh (3), Bình Thuận (3), Long An (3), Đắk Lắk (2), Hậu Giang (2), Bắc Ninh (1), Quảng Nam (1), Bình Định (1), Phú Yên (1) and Đà Nẵng (1).

Việt Nam has now seen 31,877 deaths related to COVID-19, making up 1.9 per cent of total patients.
