HCM CITY — The fundraising campaign launched by NGO VinaCapital Foundation in July, ‘Help Vietnam Breathe – Vì Nhịp thở Việt Nam,’ has raised more than US$1.2 million and donated personal protective and breathing equipment to frontline COVID-19 medical facilities.
The campaign was launched to assist what were overwhelmed hospitals and other temporary medical facilities in HCM City and neighbouring provinces.
It received donations from nearly 800 individuals, businesses and organisations and bought 57 ventilators, one ECMO machine and 10,050 sets of personal protective equipment.
VinaCapital Foundation collaborated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in HCM City and local authorities in Cần Thơ City and Long An, Bình Dương, Tây Ninh, and Quảng Nam provinces to distribute the equipment to areas most in need. —VNS
