Officials and staff of the Vietnamese and Cuban Embassies in Argentina gathered at an exchange in Buenos Aires on September 26 to strengthen their friendship and solidarity, heading to the celebration of the 64th anniversary of the Việt Nam -Cuba diplomatic relations (December 12, 1960-2024).
Party General Secretary, State President Tô Lâm used this occasion to thank President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba Esteban Lazo who led a high-ranking delegation of Cuba to attend the funeral of late Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng.
The order was granted in recognition of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam Central Committee and President of Việt Nam Tô Lâm’s priceless contributions to the development of the solidarity, friendship, and faithful relations between the two Parties, States, and peoples.
The trip demonstrates Việt Nam’s contributions to the world’s largest multilateral organisation, as well as the country’s proactive and active engagement in the settlement of regional and international issues.
The Cuban PM congratulated the Party, State and people of Việt Nam on their great achievements during the country’s renewal process over the past nearly 40 years, and highly evaluated its efforts in overcoming the consequences of Typhoon Yagi.
The host stressed that the first state visit to Cuba by Lâm as the top leader of the Vietnamese Party and State holds special significance as it reflects the great respect for relations and the revolutionary solidarity between the two Parties and the two countries, helping intensify the trust and make practical improvements in the bilateral ties in the coming time.
Party General Secretary and President Tô Lâm’s recent trip to the United Nations and the United States from September 22 to 25, 2024, marked a significant step in Việt Nam's diplomatic efforts on the global stage.
In an interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency in New York, United Nations (UN) Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-PierreLacroix noted that Việt Nam has deployed forces to UN peacekeeping missions, including a Level-2 field hospital in South Sudan and, more recently, an engineering unit to the UN mission in Abyei.

Nina Ostanina, chair of the public movement "All-Russian Women's Union - Hope of Russia" and head of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood, said that Russia and Việt Nam share many views on family, women and children, emphasising the importance of protecting traditional values, the role of the family nucleus in society, gender equality, and protecting children from negative influences.

The diplomat expressed his belief that following the historic visit of Party General Secretary and President Lâm, the relationship between Việt Nam and Cuba will enter a new period, with the traditional special friendship maintained while investment and cooperative ties growing substantively, helping Cuba rise over difficulties.
Mrs. Ngô Phương Ly, spouse of Party General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm, emphasised the importance of carrying forward the legacy of previous generations and further nurturing the faithful and enduring solidarity between Việt Nam and Cuba.
Cuban leader praised Vietnamese enterprises' operations in the ZEDM, describing them as evidence for the special traditional friendship between the two countries and the promising future of their economic cooperation.
PM Chính urges rich countries, developed nations and those with better resources to assist developing and poorer countries in institution building, financing, quality workforce training, and transfer of advanced technology and smart governance practices.
