KHÁNH HÒA — Frigate 015-Trần Hưng Đạo of the Việt Nam People's Navy departed from a port in Khánh Hòa Province in the morning on Friday, July 17 for goodwill visits to China and the Philippines.
The delegation is led by Senior Colonel Đỗ Minh, deputy commander of Naval Region 4, and includes officers and crew members from Frigate 015-Trần Hưng Đạo of Brigade 162 under Naval Region 4.
According to the itinerary, the delegation will visit and hold exchange activities with the People's Liberation Army Southern Theatre Command Navy in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China.
It will then travel to Manila for similar exchanges with the Philippine Navy.
The voyage will also provide an opportunity for the ship's officers and crew to strengthen their training, improve command and coordination capabilities, enhance proficiency in operating and mastering weapons and technical equipment, and sharpen their ability to respond to situations at sea.
Political Commissar of Naval Region 4 Senior Colonel Bùi Văn Bền said the Party Committee and Command of Naval Region 4 regards the mission as highly significant for relations between Việt Nam and China, as well as between Việt Nam and the Philippines.
He said extensive preparations have been made to ensure the success of the mission, with participating officers and sailors expected to promote the cultural values embodied by the image of 'Uncle Hồ's Naval Service Members'.
They are also expected to demonstrate the Việt Nam People's Navy's spirit of international integration, professionalism and operational excellence in engagements with foreign counterparts.
The Party Committee and Command of Naval Region 4 have instructed participating personnel to make thorough preparations so that the external relations activities are carried out in a substantive and effective manner, contributing to building confidence and promoting peace, stability, cooperation and development at sea. — VNS
