HCM CITY—  First runner-up of Miss Việt Nam 2018, Bùi Phương Nga, will compete in the Miss Grand International 2018 in Yangon, Myanmar today.  

Nga, who is 1.72 metres tall and weighs 49 kilogrammes, studies at the National Economics University in Hà Nội.

The 20-year-old has appeared on the cover page of several magazines for students.

She has also received top prizes at dance, music and song contests launched by the Hà Nội Department of Education and Training and Youth Union.    

On the fanpage of Miss Grand International 2018, Nga’s video features messages about love and peace. On the clip, she introduces Hà Nội’s culture and lifestyle to the world.

The sixth Miss Grand International 2018 has attracted 80 contestants from different countries and territories.

The contestants will be judged on knowledge and appearance. Their appearance will be based on physique and costumes, both modern and traditional.

The top 10 contestants will be selected for the final on October 25.

Last year, first-runner up of Miss Việt Nam 2014 Huyền My was named among the Top 10 at Miss Grand International 2017 held on Phú Quốc Island in Kiên Giang Province. — VNS
