Huế to restore royal palace

The central city of Huế has announced plans to restore a palace in the former royal citadel in an attempt to give visitors a glimpse at how the former kings of the Nguyễn Dynasty (1802-1945) lived.

 

Record flood hits outskirts of capital

Heavy rains throughout the north of Việt Nam in the past few weeks have caused serious floods in many areas, including the western outskirts of Hà Nội.  Chương Mỹ District is one of the most seriously flooded districts with nearly 3,000 households deeply submerged in water.
