HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam-Korea Food and Culture Festival 2020, organised last weekend in Hà Nội, was a great chance for anyone who loves South Korea to explore the country's culture and cuisine.

The event was co-organised by Việt Nam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Việt Nam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, South Korea’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam.

It aimed to strengthen the cultural and commercial relationship between the two countries amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and promote cooperation and mutual development between the two countries.

This year, the festival featured 56 booths introducing Korean agricultural-forestry-aquatic products such as fruits, ginseng, nutritious drinks, mixed noodles, tokbokki and other traditional Korean dishes prepared by skilled chefs.

Along with culinary activities, many recreational activities were held including music performances, calligraphy, makeup shows, taking Korean photographs and wearing traditional costume Hanbok, as well as experiencing electronics technologies.

The three-day festival, held at Hà Nội Opera House, welcomed the attendance of top Vietnamese singers like Bùi Bích Phương, Noo Phước Thịnh, Đức Phúc, Erik and Min.

Việt Nam and South Korea established diplomatic ties on December 22, 1992. They set up a comprehensive strategic partnership in August 2001 and agreed to lift ties to a strategic cooperative partnership in October 2009. — VNS
