HÀ NỘI — A temple dedicated to Bầu Lords has been inaugurated as Tuyên Quang Province People’s Committee preserves Bầu Citadel, a national relic site. Temple construction started last year and was funded by individuals and organisations.

The citadel was built between 1730 and 1770 and is located in Tân Thành Village. It is associated with two brothers, Vũ Văn Uyên and Vũ Văn Mật, who protected the country from spiraling into a civil war between Lê and Mạc factions. They were dubbed ’Bầu Lords’.

Bầu Citadel is very important in researching Vietnamese national history and in educating young people about patriotic and military tradition. It is also an attractive tourist destination. — VNS
