HÀ NỘI – Eiffel Tower-embroidered chair covers and small tea tables with delicate macarons on them have help replicate a Parisian atmosphere in the French Embassy in Hà Nội for the book launch of Sống Như Người Paris on Tuesday.
The book is a Vietnamese-language version of Comment etre une Parisienne où que vous soyez or How to be Parisian Wherever You Are: Love, Style and Bad Habits.
It was penned by a group of four longtime friends: Caroline de Maigret, a former Chanel model; Anne Berest, the author of two novels; Audrey Diwan, editor-in-chief of Stylist magazine; and film producer Sophie Mas.
The stunning and accomplished French women share their wisdom of the salon, bistro and boudoir under the sections to Love, Style, and Bad Habits. They also touch on other matters such as plastic surgery, aging, fitness, cheating and love.
Although the book doesn’t present an idealised portrayal of French women, it embraces the chic sense of style and elegant attitude of Parisian women known around the world.
From delivering fashion tips, to staying slender despite a diet of red wine and baguettes, everything about a modern chic Parisian woman has been revealed in this “guidebook”.
The book, published in 2014, has been translated into 32 different languages.
In Việt Nam, the book has been published by Nhã Nam Publishing House and the Thế Giới Publishers, and is available at every Nhã Nam bookstore nationwide at the price of VNĐ90,000. – VNS
