Việt Nam-Korean Cultural Day to open in Đà Nẵng

A series of exhibitions, business-to-business meetings, cultural performances, food promotion, tourism promotion, and various exchange programmes will be organised in the Việt Nam-Korea Culture Exchange Festival at the city’s Biển Đông (East Sea) Park on August 6-9.

ĐÀ NẴNG — A series of exhibitions, business-to-business meetings, cultural performances, food promotion, tourism promotion, and various exchange programmes will be organised at the Việt Nam-Korea Culture Exchange Festival at the city’s Biển Đông (East Sea) Park on August 6-9.

The festival will also feature a trade and investment event, a Korean product showcase, and other activities with the aim of boosting bilateral co-operation and friendship between the two countries.

Local visitors will have chances to explore Korean-style products and services, including K-Beauty, K-Food and K-Style, while seeking cooperation ties in investment and trade with Korean partners with support from the South Korea Trade and Investment Agency (Kotra).

A procession of the festival will be organised on Bạch Đằng street at 5pm on August 6, a source from the General Consulate of South Korea in Đà Nẵng said.

Vietnamese and Korean businesses will join an investment promotion at the Meet Korea in Đà Nẵng event entitled: AI, new driving force for growth, at Furama Đà Nẵng Resort on August 7.

The festival will officially open at the park around 7pm on August 7, the city’s foreign affairs department said.

K-POP Random Dance, Korea Story Festival, a golf tournament, a soccer friendship event, a joint Vietnamese and Korean Đà Nẵng-Daegu concert, and Vovinam-Taekwondo martial arts mass performances are also included in the agenda.

An exhibition of 80 pavilions will be displayed at the park during the three-day festival, the department shared.

Last week, the city received the newly appointed head of Consulate General of South Korea in Đà Nẵng, Han Jungil, at a reception.

Đà Nẵng City also inked co-operation and friendship ties with 10 Korean partners and cities, while 15 international co-operation deals have remained.

Korean investment is among the top four of foreign direct investment in Đà Nẵng with 345 projects worth US$1.33 billion.

Six universities from Korea have signed agreements with Đà Nẵng’s Đông Á University to exchange education, language studies and internship programmes.

The city hosted 2.1 million Korean tourists last year.

Korean airlines, including Asiana Airlines, Jeju Air, Jin Air, Air Busan, Air Seoul and T'way Air all operate their flights from Busan, Seoul, Deagu and Cheong Ju to Đà Nẵng.

Đà Nẵng plans to build tourist links between Jeju Island, Incheon, Seoul and other localities, including UNESCO-recognised world heritage Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng, Huế Monuments Complex, Hội An ancient town and Mỹ Sơn Sanctuary in central Việt Nam. — VNS
