HÀ NỘI — For the first time, Huế City will host an international music and heritage festival called Huế Wonderverse Fest from August 30 to September 1.

The festival aims to support the development of Việt Nam's cultural industries while advancing Huế's vision of becoming the country's signature Festival City.

It will be one of the largest cultural, music and technology festivals ever held in Huế, marking a new milestone in transforming heritage into a driving force for creativity, tourism and the cultural economy.

Under the theme City Awakening – Awakening Heritage, the festival will express heritage through the language of music, art and modern performance technology.

A highlight of the event is its large multi-sensory stage, featuring LED systems, visual mapping, interactive media and laser performance technology aimed at setting a national record, along with other cutting-edge performance effects.

Together, these elements will create a unique immersive journey that connects Huế's heritage with the spirit of creativity and global integration.

The official mascot of Huế Wonderverse Fest will also be introduced: the mythical Long Mã (dragon horse), a symbol of imperial wisdom and power.

It is reimagined through visual art and contemporary performance technology, becoming a symbol that bridges the historical depth of the former imperial capital with the creativity of younger generations.

This also marks the first time the image of Long Mã has been transformed into a digital artistic language, and it will guide the entire festival experience and establish a distinctive visual identity for future editions of the event.

There will be two music nights, themed Heritage Awakens and Heritage Integrates, featuring outstanding Vietnamese and international artists.

The festival is intended to become a permanent annual fixture and evolve into an internationally recognised cultural and music event for Huế City.

Set to become an annual week-long event, activities will take place daily from 5pm to 1am. It also aims to support the growth of the cultural industries and creative economy, boost tourism and strengthen Huế's profile as an international cultural destination. — VNS
