TUYÊN QUANG — The People’s Committee of Tuyên Quang Province has officially released plans for the 11th Buckwheat Flower Festival as well as a ceremony to honour the province’s newly recognised tourism titles achieved this year.
The opening ceremony will take place on November 29 at the centre of Đồng Văn Commune, with about 100 delegates in attendance. This year’s festival will carry the theme 'The Land Where Rocks Blossom', symbolising the beauty and resilience of the region’s rocky plateau.
Throughout the festival, visitors can enjoy a wide range of exciting cultural and artistic activities. Local performers and artisans from the Cultural, Information and Tourism Centre of Đồng Văn and Mèo Vạc districts, along with schools and organisations across the Đồng Văn Karst Plateau Global Geopark, will present captivating art shows.
Campfire gatherings and cultural exchanges will offer guests an authentic experience of the diverse ethnic communities in the province.
Other much-anticipated events include the “Buckwheat Flower Cup” Table Tennis Tournament, traditional folk games, cultural performances, and the introduction of a new tourism product titled 'Rock – The Spirit of Stone'.
The provincial authorities have emphasised that the festival should be held in a joyful, safe and cost-effective manner, with a focus on promoting local cultural values and creating memorable experiences for both residents and visitors.
Over the years, the Buckwheat Flower Festival has become a signature tourism highlight of Tuyên Quang Province. Each blooming season, the Đồng Văn Karst Plateau Global Geopark attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from across Việt Nam and abroad to admire the delicate pink and purple blossoms that carpet the stony hillsides. — VNS
