HÀ NỘI — With a blend of historical pride and forward-thinking vision, the northern province of Hưng Yên is set to take centre stage at a landmark national exhibition this month — the first major event at Hà Nội’s newly built National Exposition Centre.

Running from August 28 to September 5, the exhibition will mark the 80th anniversary of National Day by spotlighting Việt Nam’s socio-economic progress, cultural heritage and strategic goals for the future. Among the highlights will be a dynamic showcase from Hưng Yên, charting the province’s achievements from 1945 to the present, alongside development plans to 2030 and a vision through to 2050.

The National Exposition Centre itself is a statement of Việt Nam’s ambitions. Spanning hundreds of thousands of square metres and built to international standards, the centre can host exhibitions, seminars, cultural performances and outdoor events — reinforcing Hà Nội’s growing status as a hub for culture, tourism, politics and innovation.

This exhibition is expected to be a milestone not only for the capital but for the entire country. It will bring together all ministries, 34 localities and leading corporations, with curated spaces covering national achievements, outdoor experiences, international exhibits and Việt Nam’s 12 cultural industry sectors. Visitors will be taken on an immersive journey through the nation’s history and aspirations, with integration and sustainable development as central themes.

Under the theme 'Promoting Historical, Cultural and Revolutionary Traditions – Stepping Firmly Towards the Future,' Hưng Yên’s display will highlight its people, land and long-standing contributions to national development. Visitors can expect an engaging and visually rich experience through the use of 3D models, LED screens and multimedia installations, designed to appeal to both local and international audiences.

Deputy Chairman of Hưng Yên People’s Committee Phạm Văn Nghiêm described the event as a “significant political and cultural occasion” that demands meticulous preparation. He urged all departments and sectors to work closely with design consultants and industry representatives to ensure the content is impactful, relevant and accurately showcases the province’s development journey and future potential. VNS
