ĐÀ NẴNG – Know One Tech One (KOTO), a non-profit social business model, has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indochina Beach Hotel Joint Stock Company, providing vocational training programmes for underprivileged young people in a professional five-star working environment.

The deal will provide a six-month internship for 34 trainees at the Furama-Ariyana Resort Đà Nẵng, refining their skills, experience and professional training and knowledge, in order to develop their careers.

The project aims to be transformative for at-risk and disadvantaged teenagers and will be rolled out in other places across Việt Nam.

The general director of Indochina Beach Hotel Joint Stock Company Nguyễn Đức Quỳnh, said the deal would expand on the existing help offered to trainees – who are living in poor families or are orphans – from the KOTO training system.

The KOTO Enterprise is now operating KOTO Văn Miếu, a flagship training restaurant and catering business in Hà Nội, in providing key funding to KOTO Foundation and vocational work experience programmes alongside English language practice in a real world hospitality environment, catering to both local and international customers.

It has launched ST25 by KOTO, showcasing Việt Nam's finest cuisine, while continuing to empower at-risk youth through hospitality training.

Meanwhile, KOTO has partnered with KPMG to open a cafe which offers financial support for trainees.

KOTO was one of the first social enterprises in Việt Nam, providing positive, permanent change for at-risk and disadvantaged youngsters, offering a two-year hospitality training programme incorporating both vocation and life skills.

Last year, Đà Nẵng Tourism Association also signed a deal to supply produce from the farmers’ association of Tr’hy commune – a Cơ Tu ethnic community in Quảng Nam Province – and a group of tourism and cuisine associations in Đà Nẵng in promotion of agro-tourism among businesses and ethnic group communities in central Việt Nam.
