HCM CITY — The La Vie water bottling plant in Hưng Yên Province has received certification for meeting the Alliance for Water Stewardship standard, an international standard for how water should be stewarded at a site and catchment level for environment, social and economic benefit.
It is La Vie’s second plant to meet the international standard after one in Long An Province.
Many major global bottled water brands have embraced AWS standards, but La Vie is the first and only one in Việt Nam.
Nestlé Group, owner of La Vie, seeks to adopt AWS standards at all its water bottling sites by 2025.
To get the certification, factories must go through a strict evaluation process conducted by a third party under the close supervision of AWS.
After being certified, businesses will be evaluated annually to ensure their water protection activities continue and improve.
The company recently announced a goal of offsetting 100 per cent of the water it uses in its production by 2025. — VNS
