HÀ NỘI — According to a report by the Department of Industrial Safety and Environment under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the northern region has entered the flood season, but the inflow to reservoirs remains low.
The water levels in the lakes are rising slowly, resulting in moderate electricity generation.
The report says that the inflow to hydropower reservoirs is low, with a slight increase in the North, North Central, Central Highlands, and Southeast regions, while the South Central Coast has seen a slight decrease compared to the previous day. Similarly, the water levels in hydroelectric reservoirs in the North and Central Highlands have slightly increased.
However, due to the low inflow and water levels in the hydropower reservoirs, the projected water levels in the lakes in the near future are not high. As a result, the hydropower plants in the North and North Central regions primarily regulate water to ensure a minimum flow and moderate power generation, aiming to maintain the safety of the units during operation.
It is challenging to meet the power generation requirements according to the reservoir operation process during this period, the report says.
According to the statistics from the department, several lakes are approaching the dead water level, including Thác Bà, Bản Vẽ, Thác Mơ, and Đồng Nai 3. The water levels in these lakes have slightly increased compared to the previous day.
According to hydrological forecast, there is a slight increase in the 24-hour water flow to the lakes in the North, Central Highlands, and Southeast regions. Meanwhile, the North Central region and the South Central Coast region are experiencing slight fluctuations at a low level. VNS
