HÀ NỘI — Đỗ Quang Vinh – Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Deputy CEO of SHB, and Chairman of SHS – was named among the Top 10 awardees of 2025 Red Star Award – Outstanding Young Vietnamese Entrepreneurs ceremony, recognising his outstanding contributions to the finance and banking sector.

The event took place in Hà Nội on November 26, honouring the country’s most dynamic business leaders.

The Red Star Award, held every three years, is one of the most prestigious honours for young entrepreneurs in Việt Nam. Organised by the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union, the Việt Nam Youth Federation and the Việt Nam Young Entrepreneurs Association, the award celebrates young business leaders who have demonstrated exceptional performance in corporate governance and made significant contributions to socio-economic development and community progress.

The selection process consists of three rounds – preliminary screening, on-site assessment at candidate enterprises, and the final review. This year, the programme continued to recognise the Top 100 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Entrepreneurs, with the 10 most remarkable names receiving the Red Star Award.

“I am deeply honoured to be listed among the Top 10 Outstanding Young Entrepreneurs of the Red Star Award 2025. This recognition is a powerful source of motivation for me and our young leadership team to continue demonstrating our vision, innovating our mindset and enhancing service value for our customers. At the same time, it inspires us to contribute to sustainable development and elevate Việt Nam’s global standing,” Vinh said.

Born in 1989, Vinh is considered one of the most prominent young leaders in Việt Nam’s finance–banking sector. With a forward-thinking mindset and strategic vision, he has been driving the comprehensive digital and organisational transformation of SHB and SHS, positioning both institutions for modernisation, global integration and long-term competitiveness.

Before taking on leadership roles at SHB, Vinh studied and worked overseas, gaining extensive experience in financial management, investment and corporate governance. His youthful, innovative and decisive leadership style has helped bring new vitality to SHB and SHS, with an emphasis on developing young talent, applying fintech solutions and strengthening partnerships with international institutions.

Under his leadership, SHS achieved remarkable results in the first nine months of 2025, surpassing its full-year targets ahead of schedule. Total assets rose 57 per cent year-on-year, and in August 2025, the company reached a market capitalization of more than US$1 billion for the first time – a symbolic milestone reflecting its financial strength and promising prospects.

Meanwhile, SHB remains one of the five largest private commercial banks in Việt Nam by charter capital, among the Top 10 most reputable private commercial banks (Vietnam Report), and is listed among the Top 200 largest enterprises in Southeast Asia by Fortune magazine.

As part of its bold transformation strategy, SHB is focusing on four key pillars: institutional and procedural reform; people-centric development; customer- and market-driven operations; and the modernisation of IT systems and digital transformation. The bank aims to become the number one institution in operational efficiency, the most loved digital bank, the best retail bank, and a leading provider of capital and financial solutions for strategic private and state-owned enterprises with supply chains, value chains and green development ambitions. Its vision to 2035 positions SHB as a modern retail bank, a green bank and a top-tier digital bank in the region.

On a personal level, Vinh has received multiple awards and commendations from domestic and international organisations for his contributions to corporate leadership, innovation and sustainable business development. Notably, he was honoured with the “Asia’s Outstanding Entrepreneur” award by Enterprise Asia.

Being named among the Top 10 Red Star Award winners of 2025 is not only a well-deserved recognition of Vinh’s achievements, but also a testament to the rising capability, ambition and influence of Việt Nam’s new generation of business leaders in an era of integration and digital transformation. His story continues to inspire young entrepreneurs to innovate, lead with purpose and contribute to the country’s socio-economic progress. — VNS
