Organon, a global healthcare company dedicated to advancing women’s health, has re-signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Vietnam Population Authority (VNPA), under the Ministry of Health to commemorate National Population Action Month. This collaboration focuses on enhancing public awareness (particularly among adolescents and young adults) about family planning and reproductive health, with the goal of reducing unintended pregnancies and supporting Vietnam's 2030 National Population Strategy.
Every December, Vietnam celebrates National Population Action Month, culminating in Vietnam Population Day on December 26th. This month-long campaign emphasizes the importance of population management, family planning, and reproductive health, aiming to raise public awareness and encourage public participation to improve living conditions and promote sustainable development.

Organon’s Partnership in Population Efforts
Organon has been a pivotal partner in Vietnam's population and family planning initiatives, and this re-signing of the MOU builds on the original collaborations formalised in November 2022 with the VNPA.
Ms. Vo Thi Thuy Ha, General Director of Organon LLC, emphasized, "We are so proud to continue our important work with the VNPA to celebrate National Population Action Month. Our commitment is to bring innovative solutions that address the unique healthcare needs of women and girls in Vietnam. By supporting women's and girls' sexual and reproductive health, we aim to make a meaningful impact on their lives and well-being".

Impactful Initiatives by Organon
Organon's partnership has led to several impactful initiatives:
• Educational Seminars: In coordination with the VNPA, Organon has conducted seminars in universities and industrial zones, providing crucial information on reproductive health.
• Digital Outreach: With support from the VNPA, the company has also launched an official Zalo channel and hotline for consultations, along with TikTok videos that have educated millions of young people on reproductive health.
• Community Engagement: Organon works closely with ministries, organizations, and local communities to enhance public understanding and build a healthy population.
Empowering Women’s Health
Organon is also dedicated to empowering women by offering tailored healthcare solutions that align with Vietnam’s population strategy goals. The establishment of Organon LLC in Vietnam in August 2023 marked a significant step in delivering innovative healthcare solutions for women and families. Organon's contraceptives and women’s healthcare products have reached millions of women, positioning the company as a leader in this segment.
Vietnam's Population Achievements
Vietnam has made significant progress in population management. In 2023, its population reached 100 million, with nearly 70% in the working-age group, presenting unique economic opportunities. Life expectancy has increased, maternal and infant mortality rates have dropped, and malnutrition has decreased - supporting industrialization, urbanization, and socio-economic growth. Family planning has seen widespread success, with the "two children per couple" standard becoming common practice.
Challenges and Future Goals
Despite these achievements, challenges, such as regional fertility imbalances, an increasing ageing population, and gender disparities at birth, persist. Addressing these issues is vital for long-term sustainable development. Organon remains committed to working with the Vietnamese government and other stakeholders to overcome these challenges and contribute to Vietnam’s sustainable development.
