HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc received Italian insurance group Generali’s director general Philippe Donnet in Hà Nội on June 22.
The meeting was part of Donnet’s official visit to Việt Nam, a country where Generali has emerged as a key player since the business was established in 2011.
Phúc said the life insurance market in Việt Nam was still small, but with a population of nearly 100 million, the market had great potential for development. He stressed that with a stable socio-political situation, extensive international integration and full adherence to commitments to the World Trade Organisation, Việt Nam would provide a conducive environment for economic growth and development of the life insurance market.
Donnet highlighted the group’s ambitions to strengthen its presence in other emerging markets in Asia. As one of the world’s leading insurance providers, Generali aims to differentiate itself through its strong customer-centric culture, where it provides innovative product solutions, tailored to each local market, combined with a superior customer experience.
“Our business in Việt Nam is committed to building a modern insurance company, one that is centred around the ever-changing needs of our customers, so we are focused on being flexible, agile and innovative,” Donnet said.
As part of his visit, Generali Vietnam teamed up with the National Fund of Vietnamese Children to launch the Human Safety Net, a global programme supported by Generali and created to empower disadvantaged families. — VNS
