Runners pick up prizes at Halong Bay Heritage Marathon

Phạm Nguyễn Tô Phương from HCM City and Hà Văn Nhật from Thanh Hóa won the first prize in the men's and women's, respectively races of the 42km Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2020 which took place on Sunday in Quảng Ninh Province’s Hạ Long City.

There were 22 other runners who won first, second or third prizes at the event.

Thanks to the professional preparation and Hạ Long's ideal weather and natural conditions, this race went off as a success. 

In addition, runners competing in the marathon had the opportunity to experience unforgettable moments in the natural landscape of beautiful Ha Long and on the running course voted by Runner's World UK magazine as one among the world's 150 most beautiful tracks.

The Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2020 also welcomed Miss Lumiere International World 2018 Đỗ Thị Thảo who ran the 5km race.

Thảo is living and working in Japan as the founder of the non-government organisation Southeast Asian Education established in Japan that operates in many fields, including education, health and environment, supporting children in Việt Nam and Asia.

Thảo said she will share the majestic beauty of the heritage and Hạ Long Bay among Japanese runners, with the belief that the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon and Ha Long Bay of Quang Ninh Province will become a top destination for the running community in Japan. — VNS
