Knee injury forced Hậu out of action for six weeks

Defender Đoàn Văn Hậu didn’t train with Hà Nội FC on Wednesday after the club's medical staff identified a number of injuries to his right knee.

HÀ NỘI — Defender Đoàn Văn Hậu didn’t train with Hà Nội FC on Wednesday after the club's medical staff identified a number of injuries to his right knee.

According to coach Chu Đình Nghiêm, Hậu began feeling pain during a training session on Tuesday and was given a rest on Wednesday to check for injuries. According to the team doctors, he could be out of action for up to seven weeks.

Hậu will not be available for the match against Cần Thơ in the quarter-finals of the National Cup tomorrow. The last time Hậu was injured was in March when he was playing for the Heerenveen of the Netherlands.

Hậu has been training with Hà Nội from August 17 following quarantine after returning to Việt Nam. He did feature in two friendly matches against Viettel on September 2 and September 5. In two matches, Hậu played 60 and 45 minutes, respectively. — VNS
