Nearly 450 cyclists competed at the Sầm Sơn Cycling Open at Sầm Sơn City, Thanh Hóa Province over the weekend.

SẦM SƠN — Nearly 450 cyclists competed at the Sầm Sơn Cycling Open at Sầm Sơn City, Thanh Hóa Province over the weekend.

Cyclists came from 35 clubs nationwide.

The event has become a traditional sports event of Sầm Sơn City every summer. It is also a tournament in the nationwide competition system.

Cyclists competed in individual and team’s events in five age groups in the distance from 26 to 32km.

The tournament was also run by national referees.

According to the Việt Nam Motorcycle and Bicycle Association, this year's event had higher quality than the previous two events. All teams sent the strongest force to participate in the tournament, cyclists all competed hard, creating attractive, fierce and beautiful competitions.

The tournament was really a traditional playground, contributing to promoting the cycling movement in the province in particular and nationwide in general.

At the end of the tournament, the organising board presents trophies, flags, medals and awards to the athletes and teams for their high achievements. — VNS
