Hậu named among leading Asian defenders

HÀ NỘI — Defender Đoàn Văn Hậu has been selected as one of the best nine defenders in Asian football history by the prestigious sports website Fox Sports Asia.

As well as the votes in other positions, the race for the best defender award in Asia is also divided by Fox Sport Asia in each stage including legends, current heroes, and stars of the future, with enthusiastic fans able to vote for their leading three defenders through the various social networks of Fox Sports Asia.

Of which, left-back Hậu of the Vietnamese national team is also in this list. Hậu represents the future generation of Asian football when he has just turned 21.

Hậu has greatly contributed to the recent achievements of the Vietnamese national team at various levels, including claiming the runner-up spot at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, finishing as champions at the AFF Cup 2018, and winning the SEA Games 2019.

Although only 21 years old, Hậu, who is playing for Heerenveen FC of the Netherlands, is an irreplaceable face as a left-back for the Vietnamese team.
