HÀ NỘI — Trần Tuấn Kiệt won the seventh stage of the HCM City Television Cycling Cup on Monday.
Kiệt of Dopagan Đồng Tháp triumphed in the 50km stage around Tam Kỳ City in Quảng Nam Province with the time of 1:16.18.
The stage took place in the heat of nearly 40 degrees Celsius. Cyclists had to chase each other over 25 laps around Tam Kỳ City.
Notably at this stage, although suffering from an injury and being hospitalised, Lê Nguyệt Minh of HCM City was present in the top five.
Although Lê Tấn Hoài of Đồng Tháp didn’t finish in the top five, he is still on top of the overall rankings after seven stages.
The event will finish on June 7 after 18 stages.
The winner of the tournament will walk away with the yellow jersey and VNĐ200 million (US$8,600) while the winning team will grab VNĐ100 million.
