HÀ NỘI Goalie Phí Minh Long of defending V.League 1 champions Hà Nội FC has suffered a torn knee ligament while training for the resumption of the national premier league.

According to a club announcement, Long will have surgery on his right knee at 108 Hospital today, but it will be two months before he recovers, all being well.

Since Bùi Tiến Dũng left Hà Nội for HCM City, Long has been competing with Nguyễn Văn Công for the number one jersey this season.

Long has not been picked for the national team under South Korean coach Park Hang-seo. However, he was a key player for coach Nguyễn Hữu Thắng and Japanese coach Toshya Miura. VNS
