HÀ NỘI — The Quảng Bình Discovery Marathon 2020 will be held on February 29-March 1 at the National Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng Park, Quảng Bình Province.
In a press briefing yesterday, organisers said they expect to welcome more than 1,500 athletes who are Vietnamese and international.
They will compete in four different categories of 42km (full marathon), 21km (half marathon), 14km and 7km. There is also a 3km-Fun Run free of charge to encourage people taking part in running activities to improve their fitness.
Quảng Bình Province also hopes through this event people will learn more about the provincial tourism potential, biodiversity and the national park.
Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng is one of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage sites in Việt Nam. The park is home to caves, underground rivers, and some of the most spectacular flora and fauna in the world.
With great natural beauty, landscapes and local people, the marathon, organised for the first time, offers runners beautiful routes, passing through the most famous scenic landscapes such as the Botanical Garden, Ozo Park, Trạ Ang Bridge, Mooc Spring and Paradise Cave. — VNS
