HÀ NỘI — Desriac Loic of Việt Nam's Bike Life Đồng Nai finished second in the first stage of the Tour de Selangor in Malaysia on Wednesday.

Loic came behind Marcus Culey of team Sapura from Malaysia in the 182km race from Pulau Indah Island to Batang Kali Town. Benedikt Helbig of Embrace the World team from Germany was third.

While all six athletes from Việt Nam stay with the tournament, more than 20 from other teams were ousted after they failed to reach the finish line.

Bike Life took second position in the team ranking. Sapura were top while Malaysian Terengganu came third.

The second stage today is from Sungai Buloh City to Kajang Town over 160 km.

The tournament sees the participation of 19 teams who will tour through five stages. 

It is the first time that Bike Life has been invited to take part in this event recognised by the International Cycling Union. — VNS
