Parra wins third stage of Tôn Hoa Sen Cup

HÀ NỘI — Jordan Parra continued to win third stage of the International Cycling Tournament, the VTV- Tôn Hoa Sen Cup on Tuesday.

Parra of Bike Life Đồng Nai triumphed in the 175km stage from Quảng Ninh Province to Ninh Bình Province with a time of 4:4.38.

Park Keonwoo and Trịnh Đức Tâm were the runners-up.

After three stages, the Colombian cyclist Parra hold the yellow jersey for the best overall time of 8:19.8.

Parra also won the green jersey as the best sprinter.

In the team’s rankings, VUS-HCM City took the lead with a time of 24:58.54.

Today, cyclists will compete in Thanh Hóa Province in individual trial in 9km.

The VTV Cup event attracted more than 80 athletes from six Vietnamese teams and six foreign teams, competing in eight stages covering around 1,045km along the length of the country, starting from Hà Nội and finishing in Hội An City in Quảng Nam Province.

The total value of the prize-money is up to VNĐ1 billion (US$43,000) and the yellow jersey will pocket VNĐ120 million ($6,500). — VNS
